Valentine’s Day Wearables

February 4th, 2016

Valentine’s Day is just around the corner. Instead of the typical candy and flowers, why not get your significant other something cool, savvy and techie? If you’re in the market for something just a little different this year, here are some stylish wearables that you can buy for your sweetheart:

Wearable Jewelry for Women

MICA Opening Ceremony Bracelet

MICA (which stands for, ‘My Intelligent Communication Accessory) is Intel’s answer to the smart bracelet. This sleek device syncs with your smartphone or tablet to notify you of incoming texts, calendar alerts, and other various phone notifications. But what makes this stand out is the sheer style and beauty of it. The bracelet comes in two variations: white water snake-skin encrusted with obsidian and tiger’s eye stones, or black water snake-skin with Chinese pearls with 18k gold trim.

Vinaya ALTRUIS

Altruis smart jewelry is the first line of products from Vinaya, a research and design company formerly known as Kovert Designs. The jewelry comes in the form of a ring, necklace, or bracelet, all of which have a similar matching design. The stones are made of Zirconia Ceramic encased in sterling silver and come in a variety of shades. It also connects to your smartphone via an accompanying app using Bluetooth Low Energy, but what makes this wearable great (besides the beautiful design, of course), is that the app is very customizable in that it allows you to specify which notifications you would like to receive and which ones you would prefer to filter out.

Tory Burch FitBit

Tory Burch + Fitbit? Yes, please! This seems like the perfect matchup of healthcare, wearables, and fashion. Tory Burch initially released her first line for FitBit flex back in November 2014, and since then has come out with even newer and more stylish collections! The original collection included the metal necklace and bracelet, but didn’t make as big of a splash as had hoped. In April 2015, they released the Tory Burch Fret bracelet, a leather accessory with a metal housing for the Fitbit Flex. If you’re in the market for something a little more affordable, there’s Tory Burch’s silicone printed bracelets! Any of these are far more practical for everyday fashionistas than the little black band.

Wearable Jewelry for Him

Samsung Smart Cufflinks

If you’re looking for a snazzy gift for him, look no further than these smart cufflinks! These not only look good with your tie, but they also feature an integrated sensor pack and activity tracker which tracks your steps, calories burned, etc., all while synching with your smartphone and sending you notifications based on phone calls, alerts, messages received.

If the smart cufflinks are a little out of your range, there’s always USB cufflinks! They may not track your fitness, but they can still give off the ‘James Bond’ effect when used correctly (and they hold 4 GB of storage!)

LG G Watch Urbane

The LG Watch Urbane is definitely up there on our list as far as ‘sleek’ goes. The watch is made of stainless steel and comes with either a gold or silver finish. What’s also nice about this watch (besides the typical smartwatch features), is that it can also sync with an iPhone, play mp3’s, find your missing phone, and much more.
